So what exactly is an externship?  We look at it as an opportunity for an educator to work in or explore a business setting for a limited amount of time.  The educator can visit with various personnel, observe work activities, participate in hands-on projects, understand what skills and competencies are needed to be successful in the workplace and collaborate with the business contact to discuss and develop information and resources for the classroom.
