Massachusetts Work-Based Learning Plan
The Massachusetts Work-Based Learning Plan (WBLP) is an effective tool that can be used by any employer, and is designed to provide structure and depth to work or internship experiences. Which can include summer jobs, internships, cooperative education placements, volunteering, and more.
This tool is used to identify the skills to be focused on in the work place; to open communication about learning opportunities; to provide a structured approach to skill assessment; and to encourage reflection about short-term and long-term goals.
The Work-Based Learning Plan is a 2 page, easy to use form that includes a job description, a list of applicable skills, and multiple performance reviews to be completed for progress evaluation.
The WBLP was developed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education through interagency of collaboration among employers, educators and workforce development professionals.
